Mackenzie received her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law in 2023. Her practice focuses on family law, where she advocates for her clients through litigation and alternative dispute resolution, with experience in parenting, child support, spousal support, and property claims.

Background
Mackenzie received her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law in 2023. While in law school, Mackenzie placed third in the Sopinka McKelvey moot competition, which features top advocates from law schools from across Atlantic Canada. Mackenzie’s article on gender inequality in Ontario spousal support determinations was published in the Ontario Family Law Reporter in July 2024.
Mackenzie has gained experience in family law through her work at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic and her articling term at a well-established family law firm in Toronto. Mackenzie is drawn to family law because of the opportunity it affords her to help clients through what is often the most destabilizing time in their lives. She approaches all aspects of family law, including advocating in court, negotiating with opposing counsel, and preparing domestic contracts– each with her client’s interests at the forefront.
Mackenzie’s practice includes litigation pertaining to parenting , parenting alienation , child support, spousal support, and property claims. She litigates in the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice. She has also worked on matters dealt with in the Divisional Court. Mackenzie is also a steadfast advocate in alternative dispute resolution processes, if and when appropriate.
Finally, Mackenzie has been involved in the negotiation and preparation of a myriad of domestic contracts.
